What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are titanium screws that lie within the jawbone and function to form the foundation of your new crown or bridge. You can think of an implant as the new “root” of the tooth; hidden under the gums to provide strength and support.

How Does the Implant Process Work?
The first step in the implant process is to meet with Dr. DaSilva or another one of our dentists for a consultation. If we determine you are a candidate for a dental implant, we will refer you to a local oral surgeon or periodontist to have the implant placed. Once the surgeon determines the implant has healed properly, you will return to our office so that we can restore the implant with either a dental crown or bridge.

How do I get my Tooth?
Once you are back in our office, we will use our digital scanner to take pictures of the implant. From that scan, we will have a lab fabricate two components: the titanium abutment that connects to the implant, and the ceramic crown or bridge that connects to the abutment. The parts are then screwed or cemented into place. At this point, your implant is fully restored from start to finish, leaving you with a fully functional and aesthetically pleasing smile.
